• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Help with Autogen

Hi all,

New here to creating Ortho for P3D along with the intgration it has with scenproc to build autogen. I've had mixed results and just wondering if someone can help me with there I am going wrong.

You see in the picture below certain areas are full of autogen houses and look great, and then there are areas with no autogen at all as highlighted in red which seems to be very odd:

I have attached my config for you also as a text file.

Many thanks for any help,

Daniel

Hi,

Your script looks quite normal. Are you processing this area in once or are you running the script multiple times with different input files?

Hi there,

I am running the Ortho4P3D Software for P3D from here https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/539089-ortho4xp-for-fsxp3d/ and at once it has downloaded the Ortho and the OSM data, the script then appears to run multiple times as it generates the .agn files I'm guessing from the OSM data the Ortho4P3D software downloads.

Have you opened the OSM data file to verify the shapefiles are there, and their description flag?

I am more suspecting that different files have been downloaded, but that their borders don't align with the AGN grid. In that case you can get AGN files that are partly empty, because the data is for example in the first file processed, but the second file also covers part of that AGN tile. Then if the second file is processed, the AGN file made by the first file is overwritten.

But I don't know enough about how Ortho4P3D works in that respect.

Yeah I think you are correct. Ortho4P3D downloads multiple tiles for the 'scenery' folder files, then once it's downloaded them it then runs scenproc multiple times to generate the .agn files for each tile. What I did for Greece which is where this was taken, is I merged all of the 'Scenery' and 'Texture' for each tile into one folder named 'Greece photoreal' and in doing so it asked me to overwrite some files, I'm guessing in doing so like you say the .agn made by one tile has been overwritten by the others.

Many thanks,

Dan

You would have to merge these agn files instead then. Scenproc has a tool for that as well.

But even when the sceneries are in diffferent folders I doubt FS will show all autogen correctly.
