FSX Help with correct LOD settigns on custom model

Hi guys!

I'm making a small grass airfield. The runway edges are marked wit barrels painted white.

I made a low poly model in gmax (1m x 1m x 1m), exported it, made a library out of it with library creator , placed it in my scene with ADE, and it is there, but I have to get close to see it.

I open my mdl file with model converter, and export again (did nothing else), file size go down a bit.

Now I see my object from far away... actually too far away it looks like it is always rendered even from 10 km :D when it is smaller than 1 pixel.

I tried to play around with the lod setting in model conver, and figured that if my object have only 1 lod level, it is always rendered, and if I use more than one, than i can see it only up close.
I made one try with loc 100 lod 60 lod 40 and lod 10 with 0 object, and again I had to get close, like 50m close to even see my object.

How can I control my small but important object's visibility? I want it to be rendered from far away but no from infinity.

What am I missing?

Thanx for the help in advance.

Hmm, let me re-phase it,

Why are my object rendered in extreme distances ? technically they are always rendered even from 100km.

Anyone ?

Hello,
