• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello :-)

I want to build a high resolution photorealistic background for an airport using SbuilderX.

I selected zoom 20 via the "add map from background" option (gxxgle). When I start to create the image I get the message "Could not make an image". With much lower sizes e.g 17 it works. What I´m doing wrong or what is the right way?

Thank you,
Holger

While in SBuilderX have you tried to see if there is level 20 imagery before you try to make the map? If there is no level 20, there will be no Map made. SBuilderX may list that in the window, primarily for programming ease I would think, but it does not pre-check the sat servers to see what the highest level available might be.

*IF* there is level 20 imagery available, expect to make multiple Maps for the airport area, as at that level SBuilderX will give you errors if it's anything other than a single dirt strip of about 2'000 feet length. If you need to make multiple Maps you can still create a single BGL file manually through the use of a modified, MultiSource .INF file.

Thank you!

Ì think there is a level 20 imagery avaible because I can zoom to this level if I understand that right. I will give it a new try with more images. A level 19 image already works.

One more question. Before I compile the bgl I want to edit the image. How can I do that? I´m working on a atoll airport and I want to see the original FSX water at some areas. I tried it with the polygon option (black and white ones) but it doesn´t work.

Thank you very much for your help!

Holger
