• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

How to put runway distance markers

Hello, my question is : how to put runway distance markers on ADE?
I can only put the touchdown pointn marker.
Also, it is possible to put text on the taxiways? (example : MAX SPAN 65M)

You can create this sort of sign which is a taxi sign. There is no automatic creation of them for a runway - this is on the future features list. P3Dv5 has a way to create double sided distance markers

You can put text on the ground using the Custom GP function

Not sure that the sim supports that directly but you can place custom ground markers

which don't work. (This GP line is not valid because due to bug 11062 and cannot be used. Please delete it and add a new one. Drawing layer : Controlled by GpLayer)

OK than perhaps Don will see this and offer some assitance

Don just saw it. Narsus, please expand on

. You might also attach your .ad4 file so I can see exactly what you have done.

If you are willing to accept default markings you can add them by going into runway properties, markings tab and checking those that you deem appropriate.

There are no ground polys in this .ad4 file. I need an explanation as to what you were doing.

"Custom ground polys are often referred to as "GPs". You said you tried a GP line and it didn't work. There's none in the .ad4 file you sent. We need to understand what you did that failed in order to help you.

What version of ADE are you using? A search on "Bug 11062" reveals an issue back in ADE 1.65 that, presumably was fixed. If you are not using 1.78 or later, please update. If you are using a current release, this suggests Bug 11062 is back, If so, we need to know exactly what you did to trigger it. An explanation using your .ad4 file as reference would be helpful.

I downloaded the last version, so it's 1.78

Are you going to give us some detail re what you did?
oh i didn't understand you wanted the .ADE file but with the custom poly ground and markers.
But now the custom ground line doesn't make that bug anymore but disappears when i'm creating it.
