• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

How To Set Airport Gate Parking Assignments

This morning I tried to set up the correct gate assignments at KMDT Harrisburg. What I found is that after I set the first gate all of them regardless of size were locked to it. How can I do it individually? Thanks

Are you using the stock airport or a 3rd party one? Can you supply your *.AD3/4 file for us to look at?

I'm responding on my phone currently. When I get to my PC I will try to post the ad4 file. It is stock and it isn't. KMDT, Harrisburg International is one of the airports on the Orbx Freeware list. The main reason I modified it was due that the designer had set up GA parking on the PA ANG ramp at the south end of the airport. In real life you better not try parking anything there unless it's a c130 or an occasional C17 or sometimes the VC125 if the president visits. So, I positioned GA parking where I know it to be and then I noticed missing gates at the main terminal so I added the ones that are missing. Then I did some snooping to find out what airlines use what gate assignments and when I went to set then I noticed all of them were set for 135 Airways. HIA handles American, Delta, United, Allegient, Jazz, etc.

Gary, I think what you are seeing is the airlines properties box lists. When you double left click on a parking space it will bring up a properties box. In the centre you will see airlines and three text boxes "Airlines", "MRU Airlines" and "Codes" The first two are lists only, it is the third box "Codes" that specifes which airline parks in that space. So you need to know the 3 letter airline ICAO code and place it in this box with multiples separated by commas. If you dont know the ICAO codes, the airline may be present in the "Airlines" dropdown list or you can look here: https://airlinecodes.info/icao/A 👍

Can anyone confirm if AirlineCodes is actually used by either FSLTL or AIG in MSFS 2020? I’m wondering if it’s worth adding the airline assignments to my airport or if I shouldn’t bother.

As far as I know FSLTL uses Flightradar to put specific flights at gates so it shouldn’t really need AirlineCodes to place the airlines correctly.
