• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

How to use mdls with annotator

Hi,

You need to extend the autogen.xml file of FS by adding your objects to it. After that you can use them in annotator. The XML refers to the GUID of the objects again.

Hi arno,
Its done i get it in the library of annotator but i still have another problem and its that its about 20 mdls that i have done to one bgl and then get it in the library of annotator ok. But now the problem is that i cant add it as polygon and the other problem that i get it like 1 object when it is 20 objects. And i want to know how to like add each object by click the get guid button and then im able to add them as polygon or vegetation.

Hi,

You can add all library MDL files in one class, so that the scenery engine will pick one of them to give some random effect. Is that how you added them? If you want to place all of them independently, you need to make a class for each of them. This method allows you to place them one by one as library object in the autogen.

I think if you want to add them as a polygon, you need to define them as a kind of vegetation in the XML. Only vegetation can be drawn as polygons.

Hi,

I have never seen a tutorial for this. The SDK provides some documentation, but the rest if trail and error.
