• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I coded an Export for .mdl files.

I regret to say that I don't believe you addressed my question. As a gauge developer, how do I get round the problem that Microsoft themselves supply the tools to reverse-engineer any dotNet gauges or applications?
It is necessary to solve this problem, but I am not able to provide it for you, I am not Microsoft or Asobo, I cannot guarantee you anything on your question. Let's ask this question to them, and for my part, I will support you naturally.

I'm talking about thousands of dollars invested in projects, years of study, experience and skills that cost much more than a couple of clicks in the interface. I repeat once again that the developers already have a lot of tools to transform their projects into any sim, and these tools are available to them in the legal field and subject to confidentiality and personal rights. It also discusses the creation of software that violates all licensing agreements, property rights and developer rights on their models and products of their labor. By the way, such software and its creation are prosecuted at the level of states already, and it is quite real that a person who created such a publicly available program can receive a rather serious period and a fine only for its creation. So these are not toys.

You want to prove that such a program will be useful, but I will tell you the opposite, that never a single evil deed has brought benefit and progress, it will never be possible to create something good out of the grief and suffering of other people, hurting others will never make progress and positive results.
The thousands of dollars you're talking about is not the animation data... just so we are clear.

It's the mesh data, sound, html and textures that contributed to that. Which I can already convert these to gltf with the click of a mouse.

Animation data is keyframes and if you think I need to adjust my keyframe sequence to be off by a couple degrees so I don't copyright someone's work... that's crazy talk.

This tool is strictly converting .mdl to .gltf like MCX.

Unless I'm missing something, FSX .gltf conversion is already a one click method anyways thanks to MCX. Slapping Animation data on that isn't changing much and it definitely isn't the one shop stop for piracy. I'm going to step away from this conversation now as I feel it is breeding grounds for "Old FSX Dogs" who can't learn new tricks to get mad at new developers and cry out about 10 year old piracy protection. I personally have more issues to worry about than this. @evangel76 You have my support.

OK. This is way over the top. Accusing anyone here of creating or promoting anything "evil" is absurd. Stop it. Or you will be banned as a violation of our forum rules. You are to conduct yourself with consideration to other members or please do not post at all. Your drama is offensive and further hammering on your emotional issues over and over does not make what you say true or add value to the OPs original post. This is a warning. Tone it down.

It changes and very much.

It means that you do not ban for the publication and creation of a program that will entail a complete violation of license agreements, property and rights of developers, but for the fact that I wrote the pure truth about this and pointed out copyright infringement and the consequences of this, I am entitled to a ban.

Ok, thanks, I understand you.

"From this conversation, I feel it is breeding grounds for "Old FSX Dogs" who can't learn new tricks to get mad at new developers and cry out about 10 year old piracy protection."

- Remember this quote as I will publish this in my next book, titled: "How to convert .mdl to .gltf in a matter of seconds using MCX and redoing animation data in less than an hour."

The conversation has definitely gone south. I am locking the thread. I encourage the OP in his investigations into MSFS and wish him well. GitHub is a great place for tool projects. FSDeveloper does not encourage piracy or the theft of intellectual property. We do encourage study of flight sims and the internal structures of addons, and the application of tools provided by and for those sims, and members have done so long before this website even existed.
