• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi there!

My FSX Palermo scenery is over and should be released in the next few days. The FS2004 version is in the works, but i struggle to make it work effectively. In the meantime, I needed to begin a new project. With the summer holidays coming soon, Ibiza is a neat candidate :p.
So, holidaymakers, this one is for you !

Still early in the works, but you get the idea:

I'll try to make textures as sharp as possible.

More to come soon ;)

Cheers!

Thank you Michael :)

Now a view of the ground textures (with default taxiways and runway unfortunately):o

Buildings great but default taxi not great. sketchup not great.
Young padawan not enought patient...like Ibiza..bling bling
Need more lessons on skype.
Master Miyazaki.:D

Will you be using custom runway polys?
This is not planned at the moment, unfortunately (lack of knowledge is that field :( )

LOL @ FKAB! Yeah I know, i tried my best with ground polys in Gmax, and despite your very precious help, I got strange things..... for example, I put a photo ground layer for helping me to place the runways and taxiways, but when I draw the runways (with the correct dimensions), I get this:

licjkx.jpg

Unable to understand where the problem is, given the fact that i did not change the photo ground dimensions.
And I also struggle to configure Gmax adequately.

I know that if I really wanted, I could use Gmax as my primary design tool. But I quite like GSU, despite its limitations with ground polys.
It's too bad because the sceneries would benefit a lot from custom ground polys.... :o

If you make sure that your image is a perfect square you can use the tool that changes the dimensions equally, so the image will never be skewed. Another helpful thing is to set one runway at first with the correct dimensions, along with the correct heading (set it in gmax with the Z rotation of the plane.)
Then you can change the size of the image to fit, then place the 2nd runway.

Hope this helps :)

Thomas,

rendez-vous Saturday(or Sunday) on skype...let's see where it can come from. Placing groundpoly in gmax is often tricky, especially whith crossing runways(as in Palermo) but at LEIBB, there is only one runway, we should find a way...

Hope this helps :)
This helps indeed! Thank you Michael :)

@ Fred: sorry, I could not be on skype on saturday. Working on LEIB ground polys should be easier than with LICJ. I'am already happy i could add a photo real ground with blended edges to the scenery. This is the first step. :)

Hi Thomas,

it is very a highest evident that we are very lucy for to see these great projects. And may I ask a question about palermo. When we can se palermo' early fs9 preview?

Thank you so much again.

Thank you for your comments :)

When we can se palermo' early fs9 preview?
As the FSX version is now over, i have begun my conversion work. I faced a few problems, and must admit that this version will look worse than the FSX one. It could take some time to get the FS9 version finished, unfortunately. I will let you know how things evolve ;)
