• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

illuminate ramp FSX

Greetings, there will be some tutorials that explain how to light up a ramp in the FSX gmax

You can also use the lightPole Big Wash sceneryObject that is part of Acceleration to lightup any airport ramp without Gmax.

FSX also uses the Terrain Poly Land Class Cement in place of the Airport ramp at many locations. This has a night glow and makes the entire ramp lighted.

Hi,

I think you need to explain in more detail what you want. Did you make the ramp in GMax as well or not? The suggestions Jim gave work fine for a ramp made with BGLComp according to the SDK, but for a ramp made in GMax as a ground polygon they will probably not all work.

I've tried finding the lightPole Big Wash sceneryObject that is part of Acceleration so as to use in "Instant Scenery" and can't seem to find the right library. What am I missing?

I am working on lighting as well. I really want a better (brighter) one than the big wash, but, in Instant Scenery, it will be found in the FSXP_FillerObjects.bgl

It's at the bottom...the last 3 are the light poles.

I have downloaded the EZ Object Library, a MUST have if you are doing design work. It has 1000's of objects from many libraries all in one nice package. In it are a ton of light poles that would be amazing for my scenery, however, they ONLY light up default ground. They will not light up new road scenery I have added. The ones in the fillerobjects do, but again, they are not bright enough ....by about 1/2.

If anyone knows of some good light poles that are bright and light up other scenery objects as well as the stock ground, please, let us know...

Hi Jvile!

Can you be more specific with this landclass stuff? I tried it but it makes the aircraft act like "offroad" . How could I use it as a apron? Can you exemplify any default ramp using it?

Thanks a lot in advance!
