• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have been undertaking a version2 of some simple scenery I did way back. I create the textures from photographs in photoshop, save them as PDS files and apply them to the building in Gmax. Now it may be my memory, but I am sure that when I did the original the end result was sharp and you could read things like 'Airfield Office' on the finished article in Gmax. This time it just looks like lots of pixels and is completely unreadable. I haven't replaced anything in FS9 yet and am still using the original building, again that used the same photos etc and it can be read in FS9. Unfortunately I lost the original build when I had a HD go pearshaped on me.

Anyone got any suggestions

Hi,

Could it be that it is just the setting in GMax? In the setting you can configure the display driver for GMax and set the texture size shown inside GMax.

Thanks arno.....how do I go about that, I haven't used or fiddled for ages thats the problem, it all sat there on my old HD before the fateful day

Well I have changed the viewport settings to Direct£d and it has identified my graphics card. Also ticked the box to say match bitmap etc. Now looks fine, just cannot read the viewport descriptions....sigh

Hi,

Have a look in Customize -> Preferences. Then Viewport tab, Configure driver button.
