• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum

Image Tool Issue

Quite suddenly, I cannot get dxtbmp to open my .bmp files. I am not sure what I have done in my PSP program but now no new images open!

The old images open just fine. So, I am stuck not knowing how to get my textures to the models without image tool. Any thoughts on how I could have stopped the program from working right?

Can you explain a bit more? Do you have a problem with ImageTool or with DXTBmp? That is a bit unclear from your message.

In ImageTool it should be quite simple. Just open your image, convert to the DXT format you want, add mipmaps and save to your texture folder of choice.

I think he's saying he can't open his files in DXTBmp after working on them in Paint Shop Pro.

This is just a WILD guess, but have you saved them in Paint Shop Pro format instead of Photoshop format?

That is, are you saving as *.psp instead of *.psd? The extensions are easy to mix up if you're not paying attention.

added later... never mind what I said. You are probably just saving them as .bmp files, in which case I have no idea what might be wrong.

perhaps he converted to dxt in imagetool or some other tool and now wants to open in psp?

Fun to play 20 questions, eh?

Maybe the required DLL files are no longer registered? Then DxtBmp would not open any files. Re-install the DLL-Set, maybe it works.
