Unbelievable!...After all those hours spent browsing forums and 'tweaking' settings and the .cfg file with suggestions I found there (in search of good fps w/o the 'blurries'), out of frustration; I decided to go into the bios and see if I could increase the overclock setting (from 10% to 20%)...NOPE!...lol...after rebooting twice and reaching the desktop...the dreaded BSOD!! (both times)...so, change it back to 10%...Then thought about the 'agp aperture' setting...I knew it was set at 64, but hadn't even thought about that...found 3 options...64, 128 and 256...so I set it to 256 (have a Radeon 9800Pro)....Viola!!!...blurries all gone and I can crank up most of the settings!! (autogen is still a "no-go!"...that's ok, tho...the landclass textures have the trees, buildings and roads 'painted' on them...looks kinda silly to me to have 3D versions of the buildings sitting on top of the painted ones anyway!)...I'm even able to use a bit of traffic now!...haven't pushed it yet to find the upper limit, but I will!...To think that the main 'bottle-neck' the whole time was the aperture setting in bios!!!!!!!...I guess there's really no need now to continue my effort to 'normal'-ize the 'Scenery complexity' of objects on airports...was a good learning experience, so not time wasted!
I wonder how many other folks unknowingly have this same issue and are chasing tweaks?
Thanks for listening! I just wanted to share this info, may help someone else? and you guys help a lot of people (you've helped me w/some unrelated ADE issues already!) I hope this tidbit of info will be helpful to somebody!
