• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Spudkiss, the top part of the exception message (the part I need) is missing.

But before you do anything else, delete your AIFP.ini file and try again.

If that doesn't work, please start a new thread and send me the entire message.

Now that I'm back from vacation and able to properly support it, I've released Version 2.2.05. It contains a collection of bug fixes and a couple new features. (See included Version History)

The update 2.2.05 should be automatically detected the next time you run AIFP. If it's not, you can download it from http://stuff4fs.com.

Don

Shortly after it's release, a problem was discovered in Version 2.2.05 whereby, if you attempt to use the Select radio-button on the Select Aircraft dialog, AIFP throws an exception.

Consequently, I am re-issuing this release - with that problem fixed - as Version 2.2.06.

The update should be automatically detected the next time you run AIFP. If it's not, you can download it from http://stuff4fs.com.

The Files / Recompile Files feature in Version 2.2.06 and all releases prior to it contained an error that caused times in FS9 traffic files to be decoded as if they were from FSX traffic files - with unuseable results. Version 2.2.07 corrects this problem.

The update should be automatically detected the next time you run AIFP. If it's not, you can download it from http://stuff4fs.com.

Refresh after manually add new repaints

Hi There forum members,

First of all, you made an excellent program. It is very easy to install new plans and repaints. My big compliments.

Now my question / remarks:

After reading the manual and searching this forum for finding my "problem", i didn't find any post related to this.

My remarks.

In version 2.2.0.4, there was a handy option that when during running the program and manually installing a repaint, the newly added repaint appeared in the list of repaints after hitting the "substitute" button again. As of version 2.2.05 until 2.2.0.7 this option doesn't work anymore. Now I have to quit the program and restart it again.

Also the refreshing of the installed aircraft is taking very long. Could it be possible that the above is relating with the above?

I hope I am clear enough.
Best regards and keep up the good work, thanks guys.

:(I'm having the same problems with the new AIFP 2.2.08.Am i supposed to wait until a fix comes out.It also has to do with the repaints.

Don't know how I missed that post in June.

Recent releases contain a new feature that allow you to avoid the time required to repeatedly regenerate the list of installed aircraft when required - Options / Maintain Installed aircraft List(s). This is checked by default and, it would seem is still checked on your systems.

You can either uncheck this item (in which case the list will be regenerated when needed and will pick up any newly installed aircraft) or you can click the Aircraft / Regenerate Installed AC List after you install a new aircraft/repaint.

I have just released Version 2.2.09. It contains a collection of improvements and fixes for minor issues, most of which were previously available via development releases.

It also includes a fix for a recently discovered issue with FS9 file conversion whereby, when a serious error was encountered, the conversion process would not continue until each such error was acknowledged. The conversion process is no longer interrupted and a summary of all errors discovered is output following conversion.

Also, when in treeview mode, selecting a file/folder when checkboxes are in view now automatically check the box.

Please refer to the included Version History for a complete list of changes.

The new version should be automatically detected the next time you run AIFP. If it isn't, you can download it from the AIFP page at http://stuff4fs.com.

As invariably seems to happen, within hours of a new release, something else comes along that needs attention. In this case, it's that CAL Classic flight plans use airport designators that don't meet ICAO standards. (Reportedly, that ICAO standard didn't exist in the timeframe portrayed by those flight plans.)

In all previous releases of AIFP, any airport designator that didn't meet ICAO standards was discarded and a warning issued. This required the associated flight plan to be edited before it could be compiled.

AIFP has been updated to retain the errant designators - which do not seem to cause any difficulty for FlightSim. The updated Version 2.1.09(a) is available as the AIFP Development Release available from http://stuff4fs.com. This new functionality will be included in the next general release.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.

I have just released Version 2.2.10. It contains a collection of improvements and fixes for minor issues, most of which were previously available via development releases. As well, it allows you to operate directly on aircraft in P3D aircraft folders.

Please refer to the included Version History for a complete list of changes.

The new version should be automatically detected the next time you run AIFP. If it isn't, you can download it from the AIFP page at http://stuff4fs.com.

As sometimes happens, new software may not be perfect when released. That was the case with 2.2.10. There was a bug in the Compiler Dialog.

I've now found and fixed that bug (a simple typo that escaped detection during testing) and re-released the software as Version 2.2.10(a). The next time you run AIFP you should be made aware of the update. If not, it can be downloaded from http://stuff4fs.com. Navigate to the AIFP and click the Latest General Release menu item.

I have uploaded AIFP Version 2.2.13 to http://stuff4fs.com. It contains a few fixes and a variety of improvements.

Of major significance is that I have reworked the repaint installer to be independent of how the repainter has packaged the files. AIFP will now find every texture file in the archive and will determine to which Flightsim version(s) it applies. Depending on the Flightsim version currently selected, you are now given a choice of which of the candidate formats to install. The Installer manual has been updated. Also new is the "Find traffic files that land at a specified airport" feature. Please refer to the included Version History document for details.

The new version should be detected automatically the next time you run AIFP. If not, you can download it directly from my website.

I have just posted AIFP Version 2.2.14.

It was made necessary by an issue just reported in 2.2.13. AIFP creates a sub-folder in the default Repaints folder for every repaint texture available. Once installed, these sub-folders are no longer of any use. So, in 2.2.13, I automatically deleted those folders at startup. (If they should be needed again, they will be automatically recreated from the repaint .zip files - which are not deleted.) Unfortunately, the user who reported the issue was using his main Downloads folder Repaints. No need to describe what happened when he started AIFP 2.2.13 - though, apparently, he did give permission when Windows reported that AIFP did not have access permission.

2.2.14:
  • checks that the Repaints folder is an AIFP sub-folder before deleting anything (so long as you were using a dedicated Repaints folder, the earlier issue was of no consequence),
  • is more tolerant of repainter packaging errors (like texture folder names not matching the texture name specified in the aircraft.cfg stub), and
  • remembers users repaint texture type selection and defaults to it on the next install.

The new version should be detected automatically the next time you run AIFP. If not, you can download it directly from http://stuff4fs.com.

I have just released Version 2.2.17. It is largely a collection of fixes for the new universal installer, necessitated by some unique aspects of several recently encountered repaint archives.

The update should be automatically detected the next time you run AIFP. If it is not, you can download it directly from http://stuff4fs.com.
