• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hello,

I made a polygon in Google Earth, and saved it as a kml file.

I have openend FSXKML, Added the file. The file appeard in red.

When I built the bgl, I have this text:
Build started
Processing C:\Documents and Settings\Vautrin\Mes documents\FlightSimulator\Google Earth\LFJC.kml
Invalid tag for LFJC
Running Run_SDK_Tools.bat
Build completed

and there is no file in the Flight Simuator X/Addon Scenery /Scenery.

Thank you for your help.

I'm very new to this myself, but will try and help.
Possibly someone with more experience will help also.

After you have made the polygon in GE and saved it as a KLM file you open it with FSX KLM.

It is showing red because it is not tagged with any type of texture.

Click on the file which appears in red. At the right hand side in the same window you should see an arrow pointing down.

Click on the arrow. Now a list of tags will appear. There are a lot of tags, exclude, hydro(water) and landclass tags. Click on the one you want. It should appear beside your file and the file name should change to black.

Now in the window beside the one you have been working in click on the word "tag" and it should appear in that window.

Save this, then run your build and it should show in the flight sim.

Sorry this is kind of long winded, but, like I said I am very new at this myself.
Hope I have this right fellows, if not please jump all over it.

:) Thank you, It runs

Kind regards,

JYV
