• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Invisible Taxiways

For me the drawSurface option still does not seem to work. I set it to FALSE for a grass taxiway, but I still see the taxiway (as concrete, not even as grass). Can others confirm this?
 
Let me test on my other PC as well, just to be sure.
 
Also no joy on the other machine. Or maybe only that the taxiway looks like grass now as it should, but it is still visible.

I'll see if I can make a little test BGL that others can test as well.
 
OK, some more testing. It is only working if I set the type from TAXI to PATH. But then still I saw some visual effects where they meet the runway. And if the option only works with one type, it is not really an option :).

Also for aprons the drawSurface option does not seem to work.

No, it worked only for concrete apron paths, it doesn't work for aprons or runways so it is quite useless. For the invisible effect I use zero width runways and taxiways, and don't use aprons in my raised helipads.

OK, I think we can conclude then that this is not really an improvement in SP2 :).

Maybe we should put this in the SDK wishlist forum, hopefully that can make sure that tags works as the SDK tells in future versions.
 
I am using FSXPlanner 27b and I have my Taxiway Path Data

Draw Surfce = False, but the taxiway still appears in FSX Acceleration.

Very interersting topic about heli invisible "runways".

Concerning precisely heli flightplans, see the subjects and pics I posted on France VFR forum, using Traffic Toolbox SDK (rightclick menu) and the "Assign flightplan" to a plane. It allows to force the heli to follow a very precise road, especially in narrow valleys in Reunion Island. Flightplans are built with a precise map and waypoints. You may use several helis; only problem: the flight must be manually started. But you can also take the hand to fly to an hiden waterfall!
