• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have a request for a simple airport with a not so simple runway appearance. Here's what has been requested:

The marks are 2x4 feet rectangles.
The marks are set every 100 feet.
We recommend 1000 feet of runway marked out (11 marks.)
We mark a landing area 25 feet wide.We recommend the marks start with a buffer from the runway threshold, so if a pilot lands short, it is still on the runway. In practice that can be 3-500 feet down, but it is nice to line it up with a more obvious visual reference like a tree or bush.

Is it possible for me to create said layout? If so, how would I go about getting it the correct sizing and distances?
 
Wow... 44 views. I appear to have either stumped everyone... or touched on something no one wants to share information regarding. :cool:
 
As far as I can see, the tools supplied by ADE should allow you to achieve what you require. The Manual is very good for this sort of thing.
 
Yes, I would write a custom ground polygon for the runway surface and it would sit on top of the ADE runway.
 
Ok... so I guess my next question is... what's the pixel to foot ratio for an image for the custom GP? I'm asking because of the exact sizing and distance they're asking for with regards to markings.
