• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Jake Burris JBAI P-3B Orion texture issue

Does anyone have a working AI P-3B Orion from Jake Burris? I have repainted the new U.S. Customs and Border Protection scheme for a new project only to find out the the textures don't work:mad:. The aircraft apears in FSX but not the textures. I have downloaded the MAIW Florida Orions package that has the P-3B's but they don't show up either. I am working on a US Custom's package and have already released the Dash 8's from Borinquen and now wanted to do the UCBP from Cecil Field in Florida and Corpus Christie TX.

I am also having issues with the P-3B AEW textures as well, the aircraft shows up but not the textures, only the P-3C seems to load up in FSX.

I have put all my years of re-painting experience into figuring it out but after 3 nights I am stumped!! Anyone got any ideas?

I could use the P-3C model which works fine but it wouldn't have that boom sticking out over the cockpit which would not make it accurate as in real life. And also, without the P-3B AEW this project is dead in the water.

Hi. very weird, I can't guess what can be de issue that make the texture didn't work. usually the problem come from the propeller and his transparencies and above all if the propellers are modeled along with the airplane, but it's not the case. goog luck
 
A question, and I should already know the answer to this.... Buuuuut.. Does the name of the texture file within the texture folder mean anything? I scoured the .air file and the .cfg file but nothing attaches the specific "texture" file name to the aircraft itself. Is that attachment embedded somewhere else? The ones for the P-3B Orion AND the P-3B AEW both have the same "JAI_P-3B_AEW" with the "L" and "T" for models that have different designs like the "radome" over the "EAW" Orion and the "Slick" which has the "boom" extending out over the flightdeck for the P-3B model.. Also, all of JBAI's P-3's have the same "airfile" "JAI_P3C_AI_Only" regardless of the model type P-3B/P-3AEW/P-3C which are completely different.

Something has gone awry here!!

You can check the textures in Modelconvetex. there you can get the info of the airplane. check the config file of the airplane too. yes, according with the model, the texture will work or not. check to which model you have repainted the textures :cool:
 
Basically I grabbed a downloaded file with all the P-3 variants, assuming they worked (I know when you assume you make an "Ass" of "U" and "ME") and created my own paintkit with multiple layers and did all the fine tuning.. None of the textures showed up. Not the ones I painted and not the downloads either..

My question really is; Is there a website to get a working JBAI P-3B Orion that shows up in FSX that is not the "C" model?

I have looked far and wide throught the great "WWW" but to no avail. I get very little searching "JBAI" and even less if I throw in "Orion" to the search..

Back to working on Coast Guard Air-station Savannah until I figure out this P-3B/EAW issue!!
