• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Jetway Docks To Aircraft Too High

Hi Mike,

I've noticed sometimes that the jetway is too high when it docks with the aircraft. I'm at gate B36 at KALT and when the jetway docks with the aircraft, it's about 2 or 3 feet too high. Why does it connect too high and is there a way to edit that? If so, how do I edit it? It is a SODE jetway. I always thought that the jetway always knows where the door is and it's height.

Hi Mike,

I've searched for this issue but nothing is found regarding this. I have another issue but this is in regards to the Visual Docking Guiding System, or VDGS, in the ImagineSim KATL airport scenery. The VDGS works fine in FSX but not in P3Dv4. This particular VDGS is wall mounted on the terminal and when I pull into the gate, such as B34, the VDGS neon lights do not light up and are totally black. It is not giving me any guidance as I taxi into the gate. I don't know if this is a SODE issue or if it's with the airport scenery. I don't think it's a SODE issue because I do not have the SODE VDGS and I don't see anything in the SODE folder that partains to the VDGS. When I pull up to the gate, the neon lights should light up and give me guidance but it's not doing that and it remain dark, or off. Do you know what the problem may be? I'm not sure how the VDGS works in the sim nor where its files are stored. Is there a module stored somewhere in the sim that makes it work? As far as I know, I don't think the problem is with GSX.

Hi Ken,

For the VDGS system to work, you need the commercial VDGS add-on tool for SODE.
And the airports equipped with it.

I do not have VDGS.
Unfortunately, I can't help you with that.

Hi Ken,

What about airport addons that do not use the SODE VDGS? I have the ImagineSim KATL for both FSX and P3D and the VDGS works fine in FSX even though I don't have the SODE VDGS. It just won't work in P3Dv4. I'm wondering if the problem is with ImagineSim KATL addon and not with SODE.

I only know that VDGS exists.
See here (https://sode.12bpilot.ch/?p=3576) and here (https://sode.12bpilot.ch/?document=tutorials/vdgs-workflow).
That's all I know about it.
Maybe ImagineSim KATL in P3Dv4 does not have VDGS.
But these are just guesses.
Sorry, I can't help you there.

That's okay. I've sent an e-mail to ImagineSim to find out what they say. I've found some information regarding the ImagineSim KALT VDGS not being compatible with P3Dv4. The scenery does have some VDGS stands that do work, but they are way too tall and KALT do not use, nor do they have VDGS stands at Atlanta Hartsfield. They use the wall mounted VDGS. I assume that I would have to purchase the VDGS Pack from SimMarket?
