I know there was a 2010 thread on this, but I didn't see anyone come up with a solution. Does anyone know how to make a landable island for use in FSX or is it even possible?
Here's what I have: I have created my own 'fictional' airport project on Skinwalker Ranch in Utah. Among other things including PR LC I have a body of water (A lake if you will) over a PR LC, this all works fine, but what I want to do is place a "Small" Island in the center of that lake. I've tried the "hole" thing outline in several threads and tutorials, but none of them work. Now the 'lake' was created using ADE (Not Sbuilder) because I can never get the water class in Sbuilder to work the way I want it to for reasons that would take forever to explain. Anyway, ignoring all of that, can you successfully create a 'solid' landable island using either ADE or SbuilderX that will actually work. If no one has ever been able to do this, then I won't persue it any further. I don't want to fool with anything that is going to take MONTHS or YEARS to accomplish. If there is no "semi-Simple' way to do this, then I won't bother with it. I don't want to have to keep zipping files, uploading files, then linking files all the time. If it's possible to do successfully, then all I want is a step-by-step instruction on how. If it's not doable, then I won't fool with it.
So the basic question is....Can you make a landable island using ADE or SBX? Yes or No? If yes, please explain. P.S.: I'm a NOOB, I don't know much about design or creating graphics and all that. I have BASIC knowledge of SbuilderX,and some more complicated knowledge of ADE. I have limited knowledge of all this QMID stuff. To put it gently, I'm a "newborn" that needs to learn to "walk" before he can "run".
