• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

hello
just recently i decided to get the 3 AI aircraft that came with FSX working (and yes i am 13 and i am smart enough to do this :)) and started flying at night i turned on all the proper lights including the landing lights but it doesnt light up the ground. it lights ground up up when you are in the cockpit veiw but not in any exterior view. why is this? i did the same thing with a default aircraft and it works.
thanks

P.S. it does this with some of my add-on aircraft too.

Which three aircraft would those be then?

Smart enough? Then why do you not write properly so we can read it more easily?

Well maybe you don't know about this but the landing lights in FSX AI aircraft are only effects and they don't light up the ground, the only way you can make the landing lights to work is getting the gmax file of the airplane and add the lights in there (of course, that's impossible). So if you want the AI aircraft with landing lights you better start working with 3D software!

the Dash 8-100, the MD-83, and the Piper PA28 180 Cherokee

So there is no way to make the landing lights work by editing the aircraft configuration file?

Kinda hostile atmosphere, isn't it? :scratchch

When the AI aircraft do illuminate the ground I can see no reason why your modified one doesn't. All you changed was that you added a panel and sounds, didn't you? ;)
