• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Laptop for MSFS and sdk in general

Hello
I'm in the market for a new laptop, I basically need it for Video editing (Premiere and after effects), 3D modeling and render (Blender), Game dev (unity), and last but not least: MSFS and addons development.
The primary choice would be a fixed PC for different legitimate reasons, but a laptop is what I need now to work in many different places.
My question is: what do you guys recommend ? Does anyone use a laptop to fly in the sim and even develop for the sim ?

I'm on a limited budget, so I figured out I would afford these specs: I7 11th / Ryzen 7 5800h | RTX3060 (or maybe 3070 if the price is right) | 16 to 32GB of RAM

Is there any brand you would recommend? I'm stuck between gaming laptops but none would meet the specs/ergonomics ratio

Thnx in advance
Regards
Redouane.

I found these laptops but I'm not really sure:

Lenovo legion 5 pro (16inch 2K display, R7-5800h, RTX3070).
Based on the reviews I have watched and read, it's a very good laptop for gaming and content creators and It cost around $1500-$1600

I'm forced to use a laptop because of non enough free space in my flat
In late 2020 i bought a hp Omen with nvidia 2070s, intel i-10750h, 32 GB RAM and 2 SSD,
Using It for anything (video edit with resolve, Blender, visual studio, msfs),
really Happy with It in msfs also, at 1080p delivers > 40fps with high settings in su,9

pretty loud when on full power but It Is Laptop, you can avoid that

When It Will die (or feel the need for and upgrade) i Will go for Lenovo stuff as the other guys suggested,

Buy the best you can afford, by now Is 3080ti with i-12900hx, insane Power at a insane price (especially in Europe, the price here Is double the price in the US!)

what do you think about a Lenovo legion 5?:
I7 11th
32 GB Ram
RTX 3060
5 and 5 pro is pretty much the same except the better display that comes with the 5 pro, you can watch benchmark videos on these models to see if it's worth spending extra bucks, and I believe the 3070 is the sweet spot because of it 8gb vram.
Jarrod'sTech made several videos about these laptops I advice you check them.
