• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi guy's, I'll give it a second chance and hoping someone
can help me with those lights in P3D.

I placed them with Instant scenery and as you can se 37out of 42
do shine but not those 5.

If I open the placement file in IS they start to shine but not at
the next start of P3D.

If I place them with ADE they work but even in day time. (no good)

Appreciate your help ;)

Best regards: Chico

If you place them with ADE, Chico, have you also set the parameters for night and day in ADE?
And are you sure they stay on day and night even after closing down P3D and restart at daytime?
As a matter of fact, they stay on in FSX as well if you change the time from night till dawn or from dawn till dusk. But if you close down FSX and then restart and set daytime, the lights are out!

Hoi Roby !

Thank's for giving me your time and the good advices.

If you can show me where you can change day/night/dawn/dusk. in ADE
I will send you a six pack of "Stella Artois" or do you prefer Heineken?!

Look forward for your answer.

Chico

Wish I could but ADE throws an exception (GDI+ error!!!???) on my laptop:(.
Skype no longer works either.

PS: I would have preferred Duvel.

Day/Night Dawn/Dusk apply only to effects.

For scenery objects you need to tweak the ASM.

Hi George :)

Thank's for helping me on this PITA.

It is an effect as you can se and it works fine in FSX but in P3D I got only 37 out of 42 to work.

I made all of them work when I placed them with ADE but then they shine even in day time.

If you need any file or what so ever let me know and I send it to you.

Thank you , and take care.

Chico

In ADE, display the effect properties and set the "Parameters". Unfortunately one can set only two of the parameters DAWN, DAY, DUSK or NIGHT on one effect. If you need all four, you need to have another instance of the effect at the same location.

Hi George :teacher:

Thank you for enlightening me , but for the moment I can not place any light effect with ADE.

That's the way P3D has done all the time. One day the lights work, the next day they don't.
I have run out of ideas and I am close to shut down P3d for good.

What is your idea, how can we go forward?

Best regards.

Chico

I would post on the P3D forum. There are various outstanding topics on effects.

George !

Ok.I will give it a second try, but don't hesitate to drop me a line
if you find something useful on my light issue.

Take care.
