• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Little Navmap flight planner - beta released

Hi Alex,

The host name and the IP address are correct, and I can successfully ping both of them.

I run the program as administrator and do not run Windows firewall, so no permissions were requested.

I have now disabled Avast anti-virus on both machines, but am still unable to connect over the network.

Dave.

Dave,
can you email me the logs of the two programs from one of these sessions where it can't connect?
You can find email and all in the about dialogs.
Alex

Hello Alex,

I was about to report some "quirks" when I saw your announcement of the final - sorry if it is too late for this release....

I was having fun at Friday Harbor and expecting help from LNM for some very small, hard to find fields !! :)

I notice discrepencies between FSX and Little Nav Map (it may be a side effect of ORBX airports definition, but...).

Before reporting I checked My Scenery Library, and reloaded it in LNM (several time with no luck) before reporting.

- some airfields have no drawing : 3WA7, 2W7, 2W4
- runway description is different from tat of FSX : 61WA
- WA80 and WA81 are distinct in FSX, but are surimposed as a unic ICAO code in LNM
- 1WA9 : the runway 15 should be positionned on the selected spot (I loaded the aircraft at RW18

Concerning KFHR itself, my plane is accurently positionned where I selected in FSX to load it ;)

If you need more information, let me know...

Gérard

Edit : 02/06/2017. Has been fixed already in the final release. I should have checked before . My bad.

Hi Gérard,
thank you for the feedback, very, very helpful.

3WA7, 2W7, 2W4: Side effect or not - if it shows up in the simulator it should show up in LNM too. Not necessarily the runways (due to all kind of add-on tricks) but it should at least show a small icon and it should show up in the search.

Are these airports part of an Orbx region or single airport add-ons? Looking at the paths it seems to be the latter one. You also do not use fsAerodata, right?.

Regarding WA80 and WA81: I see these a lot also in the NZSI Orbx region (NZSO, NZS3, etc.). This is one of the tricks for seaplane AI as far as I understand.
I also found some errors in the regions where a runway 27 was pointing to the east, etc. Things like this happen.

For 61WA: There can be discrepancies between start positions and runways which are separate objects. This is not necessarily an error. Have to check.

Can you send me an email? You can find it in the about dialog of LNM. I might have to ask for some BGL files.

Alex

Good to see you here Alex,
I've just joined.

I downloaded your Little Navmap a long time ago from your Avsim posts.

It is, quite simply, an indispensable part of my flight planning these days.

Notes
  • The littlenavmap-nosimconnect.exe was dropped in Little Navmap version 1.4.4. You can use littlenavmap.exe on all computers now, no matter if SimConnect is installed or not.
  • The map theme can change after the update in some cases. Simply change it back to your previous theme.
  • The GUI style can change after the update in some cases. Go to the options dialog to revert back to the style you used before.
Changelog from 1.4.3 to 1.4.4
  • Added light (Positron) and dark (Dark Matter) maps from CARTO.
  • SimConnect is now detected and loaded dynamically. The file littlenavmap-nosimconnect.exe was removed since it is not needed anymore. littlenavmap.exe can now also be used on bare computers without SimConnect or flight simulator installation.
  • Added notification message if SimConnect was not found in connect dialog.
  • The file link in the information window is now removed if the file cannot be found. This happens on remote computers with copied databases.
  • Added start positions to runway information. These are also available if the airport has no runways.
  • Improved aircraft progress display and fixed multiple omissions.
  • Fixed potential crashes when a style is unavailable.
  • Half transparent aircraft icon fixed.
  • Fixed problem with links in scenery database error dialog opening inline.
  • Changed to Qt library 5.9. Note that the GTK style is not available anymore in Linux.
  • P3D v4 runways, aprons and taxiways are now read correctly. This affects all BGL files that are created using the v4 SDK compiler.
  • Fixed crash with P3D v4 BGL files and other crashes that appear after applying the P3D v4 hotfix 1 and loading the scenery library.
  • Added support for P3D v4 add-on.xml packages. These are now read from subdirectories of C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Files\add-ons and C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons.
Full changelog.

Thank you, glad you like it.:)

Hi Alex,
I bought P3DV4 a month ago and according to Flight Sim French forums I downloaded your soft and I am using it every time I fly. I really like it. Yesterday I tried again and impossible to tell P3DV4 to start where I put my departure. P3DV4 stays at the start airport. I looked again at the VFR tuto but was not able to resolve my issue. Can you help me ?
Also is it possible to save a flight plan as P3DV4 flight plan or scenario.
Thank you for the great job (I need to check if I have the latest version by the way,
Bruno

HI Bruno,

you have to save the flight plan including the parking position. When you load the plan into P3D before flying it will place your aircraft at the selected parking position and airport.
Does the scenery in LNM match the scenery in P3D? Just in case parking positions were renamed after installing an add-on.

The latest version can be found here.

If there are crashes when loading older (FS9) scenery: Here is a development/alpha version that fixes these: LittleNavmap-20170730-1853.zip

Also is it possible to save a flight plan as P3DV4 flight plan or scenario.
Sorry, no. You can only save flight plans.

Alex

Hi Alex,
Thank you so much for this quick and precise answer. Thanks to you I have understood how to load a scenery or a flight plan. I tried and the plane moved where I wanted it to move. Great, thanks a lot.
Thanks too for the FS9 scenery beta soft. I had great stuff form FranceVFR that refuses to install. But now I have bought the new Paris 3D add-ons. Thanks to my PC configuration, I can have the settings to almost max to the right and still get 30 to 50 fps. It's a wonder.
Would you recommend any add-on for ground and texture worldwide ?
Again, thanks to LNM, it is a pleasure to address VOR and chase the needle as I use to do it in FS9 and FSX, but I have not practiced for years and I need to work again.
Best,
Bruno

PS By the way I already have the latest version

Hi Bruno,
glad it is working now.

Would you recommend any add-on for ground and texture worldwide ?
Orbx FTX Global Base and FTX Global Vector. A bit expensive so you might want to wait for the next sale. I bought it during their May sale this year.

Alex

Thanks Alex,
Images and videos just look great. I have been through the products and in Europe, France is missing, Have I misunderstood something ?
Best,
Bruno

Thanks,
Have a nice evening
Bruno

PS I am beginning to go deeper in OrBx and you are right, if I buy Global (mandatory) Vector and Europe, it costs a lot

Alex,

I absolutely LOVE Little NavMap!

I've only been playing flight sims since July of this year, and I thought flight planning would be a task. But your software makes it very easy to set things up and export to my GPS.

Great job!!!

Hi All,

I'd like to introduce my latest project which I released as a beta version. Maybe some of you already read the article on the Avsim front page.

...snip...
Alex

Thank you, Gabriel.:)

Bruno,
the beta mentioned at the beginning of this thread is very old. There were a few releases in between, also mentioned in this thread.
I'm sure you already have the latest 1.4.4. See here for news.

Alex

Hi All,

the biggest change in this version is X-Plane support for almost all Little Navmap features: Scenery Database, moving map, traffic, weather and more.

The update is also recommended for FSX/Prepar3D users because of several bugfixes and other small improvements like the new configurable update notification which will show a dialog if a new release is available.

Announcement on my page with all links.
