• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Lofty Question

Have been trying to do the taxiway markings with the loft method described in your fantastic wiki. The problem I have is that they show up perfectly in FSX, but where the lines join at junction points I have severe flickering. The rest of the lines are flicker free, just where the lines overlap is the problem. I am using FSX SP2 + acceleration on WIN7 and using gmax to do the taxi lines. I don't use DX10 any kind souls got any advice for me?

I think a picture could tell more about that. I don't understand where the lines join at the junction. Are they overlay each other? That could cause flickering.

Yeah, if you have them overlapping on the same layer they flicker. Assign the edges to the layer above the asphalt/concrete/whatever base layer using Arno's superb ground polygon wizard (4,8,12,16 etc...) and have the edges fitting together nicely, don't have any edges overlap. Although come to think of it I do have some in my unfinished ground polys and they don't seem to flicker.

Thanks for the replies guys, I am going to modify them so there is no overlaps seems to be the only option. I tried importing with the ground polygon wizard multiple times with various options on and off and different layer assignments but the flickering persisted at the join points.
