• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

LOM-Scenery Maker Question

Having just installed LOM with Scenery Maker, I found there is a neat way to add fences in FS2004. Unfortunately although having followed the tutorial, I haven't been able to import the addon scenery library in order to be able to select the fences to be used. The requisite library has been installed (fences & walls from lens_ez_scenery.zip) into an addon scenery folder called "RWY12" inside my addon scenery folder in FS9. It seems the library (in this case, RWY12) has to be imported into LOM but it doesn't take, even selecting by folder. Have also tried simply adding the lens_ez_scenery.zip folder in it's unmodified state without success. Any assistance welcome as I would really like to get working with this utility.

Not sure I understand? Are you saying you added it as a zip file?? You need to add the bgl file(s)and textures that are in that zip file

Thank you for your help! The .zip file that the addon library was downloaded from (e.g., lens_ez_scenery.zip) was first extracted/unzipped. I have an addon scenery subfolder in FS9 named "RWY12" with it's own scenery & texture folders. The .bgl folders from the lenz_ez_scenery.zip folder were then copied and pasted into the scenery folder in the addon RWY12 folder, and the texture files likewise copied and pasted over. Upon running Scenery Maker, the "Fence" button was clicked followed by the "library" button in the righthand window. This is where the problem comes up - there is a selection for either "all" or "unknown" and neither one pulls up any library to choose from. Upon importing the desired library via the LOM main screen, and returning to Scenery Maker, the library still doesn't appear; in fact, none of the addon scenery folders appear period. Apologies for the lengthy explanation, hopefully it clears things up somewhat. Look forward to any suggestions once again.

Not sure if needed for inside LOM, but did you also add the new folder you made to the scenery library in FS itself? Which that it is not read and the object will never show in FS in the end. Might be that LOM also checks if the folder is active or not (but Jon can tell that in detail).

Well I am not sure I know the answer. Do the library and the objects appear in the main LOM screen?

No it doesn't Arno

In the LOM window, I click on "Import" -> "Filetype" -> "Library" -> "Folder" and it permits navigating to all the addon folders within the Addon Scenery folder in FS9. A message appears stating that the process may take some time. Then click on the "Process" button and nothing seems to happen. Upon checking the Scenery Maker window, once again nothing displays in the library window. Another thing, after clicking on process as mentioned above, followed by the "save" button, I get the following error which causes the program to close.

Try loading the library using the File option rather than the Folder option. Unfortunately I am away from home at the moment and do not have LOM with me so I cannot check the program itself

Just tested it using the "file" option and the library still cannot be loaded (the specific file required being lens ez walls & fences vol1.bgl). I noticed there are four options under the Settings tab, have tried checking/unchecking those in all combinatins as well to see if that made a difference, which it did not.

I just downloaded LOM 1.0.

I selected Import. In the import window I selected Settings and then Process New and Process Existing. Then File Type > Library and clicked the small button to the right of the path box to define the library to be imported

Is that what you are doing?

Thanks for your time looking into this, I followed your directions precisely and upon clicking the Process tab a message appears reading "no object files found".

Do you have bgl2XML installed? If not please check the manual and requirements for LOM

Rechecked all the requirements, everything appears to be installed (I have bglx120 installed in it's own folder within Programs, hopefully that is correct). Still receiving the same error re: no object files found.

A copy of BglXml needs to be in the LOM Application folder.
