• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

As the title suggest, I am looking for someone that has experience in UVW mapping within gmax. I have parts that need mapping and some of these parts are quite complex in shape, let's just say that my mapping skills in gmax aren't the best:D. Anyone interested please send me a PM.

Why run away from an opportunity where you can "enhance" your mapping skills? Nothing is complex to map, just put your mind to it. For round surfaces, use cylinder mapping, if its a curved surface, use planar mapping.

If it is so complex as you so suggests, use an unwrap uvw ... the temptest plugin has an MD3 exporter that you can use to create texture maps for a mesh, then you use a program called LithUnwrap to create the texture map and then just drag it into gmax. This is how I do it.

Every time you ask someone to do something for you, you'll always leave your developing skills falling short in an area you could excell. Texture mapping is the funnest part of creating a model! Don't pass up that opportunity!!

But, if you want someone else to do the work for you, good luck if someone turns out. Texture mapping is very time consuming and tedious but very fun and rewarding.

:D

Then you all use lithunwrap ?, and Eurostar I thought I was the only one that hate the uvmapping :o , and yes I'm with FaosFx

Gentlemen,

I know how to map and texture, thought I could get more folks involved with my project to ease off the workload.
