• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Would anyone with good scenery modelling skills be willing to create FSX sceneries for the small airports at Tirgu Mures (Marosvasarhely) and Cluj (Kolozsvar) in Romania. Ideally, I would like the sceneries to be FS9 compatible.

Remuneration to be discussed.

i agree with John. It would be nice to have sceneries to these airports for fsx. Or even LROP Bucharest Otopeni a scenery for this airport would be nice
 
Yes i know that. You are talking about LROP 2009, but the thing is that it is for fs9 and it is old, and the scenery dosen't include the new extension of the terminal
 
LROP is definately in need of a good FSX scenery indeed, and I'd pay for LRTM and LRCL as well. All we need is someone who is willing to do these airports. Money is not the problem, there'll be enough people willing to pay for those sceneries.

Honestly, I would not count on that. No way I would take the commercial risk on me. Otopeni... maybe. Cluj Napoca and Timisoara (or is it Targu Mures?)... As much as I like Romania and Cluj, I wouldn't touch that with a 10ft pole.
 
Hey, I live in Cluj! I would do it, but I'm busy working on KMSP. Also, information for smaller airports such as LRCL is not as easy to obtain nor as abundant as for say, JFK or LHR. There is a scenery out there already that I use but it is already dated and it lacks the brand new Runway 07-25.
 
Romania has a population of 21 million and a GDP of around 6 per cent. At a rough guess there are perhaps 1000 flightsim enthusiasts in that country, including around 100 which are active in the Romanian IVAO.

With that in mind, I am surprised at the reluctance of scenery developers to get involved. It is a beautiful country with the Carpathian Mountains, Transylvania and the Black Sea coast. So, there is a lot to explore.
Most of the regional airports are very small and info is readily obtainable from most using Google Earth, and local photos.

I've not done a scenery since FS2002 days but I've had a look at Sketchbook and if nobody else is going to do anything I might have a try at say, Targa Mures (LRTM) - Marosvásarhely in Hungarian. It is a small airfield used almost exclusively by Tarom and Wizzair.

If anyone has photos of the airfield or terminal at LRTM please pm me for my email.
 
I have always wondered why Wizz Air chose TGM as a base when it is such a small airport and so close to Cluj.

Anyways, TGM is a small airport so it should be rather quick to replicate in Flight Simulator.

Connections by road are slow as there are no motorways (highways) in that part of Transylvania. Rail connections are faster but they are infrequent and tend to operate between main cities. A flight to TGM instead of Cluj can knock 2 or 3 hours off a journey to south or south-eastern Transylvania. I guess there are subsidies for airlines flying to TGM (and other small airports) under the EU's Regional Development strategy.

:) I was in Cluj in May for 10 days at language school - learning Hungarian. I didn't get a chance to take photos of the airport but if you have any or would be kind enough to take some please PM me.

I stayed with a Romanian family up the hill near Strada Emil Rocavita - Escala Villa - lovely folk! After this I visited friends in Odorhei Secuiesc - Szekelyudvarhely.

No more travelogue, mod, I promise.
 
I have some pictures from LRCL but they were taken during one of the Air Shows and I didn't think about getting pictures of the airport then so they are of no use. Sorry, I wish I would have thought about that.

There are several Romanian spotting websites that may be of use. There is http://romanian-spotters.forumer.ro which has many great photos and there is also photoavia.net which is basically a Romanian Airliners.net.

Interesting project! If you find some good photos I could help with object modelling. And also with learning Hungarian :cool:
 
Thanks for your offer! I will keep it in mind but please be patient. Learning to speak simple Hungarian is not too bad. Learning to speak it fluently would take me a lifetime. I am 67 years!
