In good ol' times when maximum zoom level was reached on Google Maps or other imagery provider, the screen was filled with grey boxes with "no image" or similar titles indicating no image is available at particular zoom level.
So, I wonder how I can know (and subsequently download) image tiles of maximum available resolution without zooming in too much, i.e. without upsampling the tiles. IOW, does max zoom level mean that the resolution is also kept at max and the image tile is not just stretched out to satisfy the user's viewing pleasure?
Thanks!
