• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

While trying to export scenery (using mcx v1.7), I ran into these errors(1st image); these occur when trying to export scenery. I have set the paths already for the XtoMDL and bglcomp(2nd image). I also run into some errors trying to export object(3rd image); I have instaled the most recent DirectX on my laptop. Any insights to guide me through these errors?

It doesn’t want the latest DirectX, it wants DX 9.0c. Both can be installed at the same time.

In fact, I have version 9.0c installed also and not even with that it compiles correctly; still hits errors both when exporting scenery and exporting object.

Can you try to double click on the event log message the DirectX 9.0c is not installed? That will download the right version. Hopefully after installing that version it will work.

Error 404 The download is no longer available(1st image). I went to another site and downloaded the DirectX 9.0c but I still have the same issue(2nd image). What else am I missing or are there any other suggestions around this? I have Windows 11 as my OS.

Let me double check which version the link pointed to.

Thank you. Is there any truth in the info found in the image below?

These are the error messages when trying to compile and export scenery.
This error indicates there is no MDL file, I think you have XtoMDL errors above in the log.

Can you try to install this DirectX version? This is the link that current ModelConverterX versions link to when DirectX is not found.

By the way, do you have the 2013 and 2015 Visual C++ redistributable installed as well? XtoMDL also needs that.
