• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Missing progressive taxi after pushback

Good morning and happy holidays!

I recently uploaded a new AFCAD for CYWG and then made some edits using ADE. I've noticed that if I ask for taxi instructions right from the gate, I get turn by turn directions and get the option of turning on progressive taxi. However, if I ask for taxi instructions (using the default FSX ATC) after pushback, I just get told to taxi to the runway's holding point with no option for turning on progressive taxi. I'll be told which runway to use, just not how to get there.

I have tried this with both default and payware aircraft and saw the same result.

Is there a way to see the progressive taxi line after pushback?

Cheers,

Colin

Are you sure you are on the Ground frequency after pushback? You won't get the option if you've changed to the Tower frequency.

Thanks for your reply!

Yes, I'm on the correct ground frequency. I start cold and dark. While starting up, I contact clearance to get IFR clearance. From here I go finish getting everything set for flight. I'll contact ground once I've pushed back and started the engines. It's as I ask for taxi instructions that I get told to "taxi to holding point runway xx". I'm not told which taxiways to follow.

I get full instructions only if I don't push back first - I'm still sitting at the gate.

Thanks again.

You can get the taxi instructions before you push and start your engines. The game won't react negatively if you do it that way. No it's not the way it's done IRL but FS is not perfect.

Colin

Did you upload a CYWG that you worked on?

or

Did you download a 3rd party CYWG and if so what CYWG did you download so we can look at it.

I downloaded an add-on scenery from the free FSX Canadian scenery site. I then used ADE to add more parking spaces away from the main terminal. This was mainly for AI.

The file I downloaded is:

The problem, all the runways have a taxiway path line (blue) instead of a runway link line (black).

Click on each runway blue center line and change it to say runway. The line will now turn black.

Make sure runway node link do not touch outside edge of runway line mark. If the node link outside the runway link won't be a black line node. If link stays on runway area it will node black line automatically. I had struggled last year and learned lesson myself. It was wrong. LOL!
