• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

You need to add an airport background. poly set to flatten and exclude

There is a no such airport found from airnav.com and search airport "XF32" Not found. Where it is at? What name of airport?

Thanks,

Stuart

If you look at the co-ordinates for the airport you will see that it is about 31.5nM west of the Homestead airfield (KHST) in southern Florida - in the middle of swamp lands - clearly a new airport being 'built' from scratch by "milgrennman".

It makes no sense 25 and -80 degs. I need like this N40 E122 not like this 60 -35. No sense!
I can't find it. 270 degrees west of 31.5 NM from KHST? Use your ruler Google Map tell me what degrees?

Thanks,

Stuart

North is positive, South is negative. East is positive, West is negative.

25.5097 = 25 and 0.5097 degrees. 0.5097 x 60 = 30.582 minutes. 30.582 = 30.58 minutes.

So 25.5097 degrees = N25 30.58

By the same logic -80.9700 = W80 58.20

Hope this helps,

How is it that I managed to create it in reply #6?
George,
I also successfully created an airfield at this location (runway and taxiway plus an airfield background poly). I used a "Dirt" runway also but noticed that, on my FSXA system at least, dirt runways do not display their full width meaning that, where the taxiway meets the runway, a gap seems to appear, just like the gap shown in your top-down view. I am not sure whether I have used a dirt runway before so cannot say if I have seen this before. Is this normal? I changed the surfaces to 'Steel mats' and the runway and taxiway displayed at full width with no gap at the junction. Puzzling?
