• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Missing tools, Developer mode

When I'm in Developer mode, I run in windowed mode. As of this morning, a couple of the of the tools have gone MIA. The Inspector tool and the object selection tool have disappeared from the screen, They show as active in the view window but only show a presence in the task bar as additional copies of FS. when I try to click on them all I can do is close them out. It's like they all by themselves dragged themselves off screen as if I had a second monitor (which I don't) Any idea how I can get them back?
 
try dev mode - Options then Manage Windows - Load default layout. Not sure what you are seeing on your screen.
 
You sir are a Gentleman and a Scholar!!! Got my tools back! I didn't even know I could do that. Or save my layout. Thank You!
 
The windows shrink to the upper-left of the monitor. Their corner usually can be grabbed and pulled down.
 
I’ve seen this happen a few times — it’s usually related to Windows remembering the last screen position of those tools, even if that display no longer exists. You can try using the Windows + Arrow keys to snap the missing windows back into view, or right-click their taskbar icons and select Move, then use your arrow keys to bring them back on screen.
