Not sure where to look or ask so figured I would start here. I am beginning to use my Model ConverterX more and learning what I can do with it. I have been taking some of my military AI aircraft and converting them to static objects to use on my aircraft carriers with some great success. I have come across a few models though that come back without the landinng gear. Where might I find more instruction as to getting around this issue if possible?

Did you use the fix animation feature?
It should make the according object static at a state where you want (the landing gear lowered in this case)

Yes, I have been working with that. Not sure how to yet but seemed like I removed or disabled the features but didn't help. I will try again.

Hi,

Try to use the animation editor to "fix" the animation of the gear at the position you want. You might have to select the right frame for different animation types.

Thanks, I think I understand. just what buttons to push within the animation editor. I will play with it.

I believe I have it.
1. Open the bgl. of he aircraft you created with Model ConverterX.
2. Open the animation editor
3. Play animation and hit stop when gear are down
4. Hit the fix button
5. Save as scenery
THANKS!

New question. Now that I have the flying model converted and landing gear down the clear canopy is now white. Been trying a few things. Made it black, made it clear but returned to black. Now I have white again. How doI make them clear? I have been using the techniecs we use for the props but no luck.

Is the canopy textured or does it just use a plain colour?

It could be you are having a missing texture.

It comes out a plain color. The texture file is there. I have played with it but then it goes whit to blak. Have gotten a dark grey. I removed the glass from within model converterx an of course, clear, no glass but that looks odd to. I

It's the Dino's 2004 Tomcat upgraded to FSX, I am just working with it to make a static model for my carriers. It works real well except the glass coming out opac.

In the MCX Material Editor, click on the canopy texture on the left and then use the drop down box to choose Set Default Transparency.

Tried that, first it came out black so I went back in and did the same for the glass texture and it came out clear. However, it seems to have given me the same result as when I just removed the glass texture from the material editor. It looks ok but almost to clear.

Hi,

Check the glass texture in a program like DXTBmp - if the alpha channel is too dark it may look too clear. Lighten it up in that case.
