• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Modeling Stairs But Somethings Gone Wrong?

Hi, ive been modeling a stair case from a tutorial ive been watching everything went well in the modeling part until the disaster started at the end of the 1st part of the tutorial. at the end the person unhides all of his objects but for some reason when i do it only some parts of the stair case appear, not the actual steps to walk up the stairs.

This shot is the stairs itself but this isnt the finished version. the finished version is in the full file which i need help unhiding it from. this stairs has another 5 small rails so you dont fall of it! about 3cm thinner than the 6cm rail located:

heres what we made to sit on top of the stair case:

now heres an image of what the disaster looks like, for some reason the bottom part where the circle is with about a million lines are, they should be the steps but in 3d? for some reason its just not showing, do i need to re scale the full object?

i have already contacted the person that made the tutorial, but a reply is still pending as i only sent it like an hour ago lol, any help would be much appreciated by the expert developer on here :)

Thanks,
Blake

In 3ds max, on the top bar go to Tools > Layer manager, open out the list, if you see any "eyes" click them.

Also, this is the tutorial I followed to make my spiral stairs... you seem to be doing the same tutorials as me :D

But ofcourse I did not have too many polys in my stairs.

Hi Aviasim, im the the layer manager ive clicked thelittle plus sign next to the 0 (default) but i cant locate any eyes?

Thanks,
Blake
