• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Moving Terminal Buildings

Hey there,

I'm working on some AFCADs for FSX to make standard scenery compatible to the layout of sceneries mainly used (like German Airports X etc.) for online flying. Im ok with moving the taxiways and aprons to their correct positions, but what really gives me a hard time is moving the terminals and standard buildings of FSX. Of course, they too are offset, but there is no way to identify which orange rectangle in ADEX corresponds to which building...

How do you guys handle that issue? Is there maybe an easy way to reposition those standard buildings?

If ADE is connected to FSX you can then move the user aircraft to the location of the building you want to move. If oyu have the big thumbnail pack installed then this does contain thumbnails of all the autogenerated buildings and you can also get a visual on the one that your mouse is over in ADE.

Moving terminals is tricky because they may be composed of multiple models and the outline is just that, a rectangle surrounding all of the buildings.

What I do is connect to FSX and place two marks, one where a corner of the terminal is and one where I wish it to be. I then create a guide line between the points, select the guide line and drag it to a corner of the terminal outline, then drag the outline to the other end of the guide line.

Hey,

many thanks for those smart answers. Thats the kind of ideas I was looking for ;)
Will try that, thanks again.
