• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

It is mentioned that with ADE19, we can run MSFS in DEV mode and see the changes made in ADE directly in MSFS. How do I do it? Can somebody explain please - thanks

Read the notes? Section 31 - Two Way Editing
Yes I read that section and tried it but it does not seem to work. Is my understanding correct that, using Two Way Editing, if I make a change in ADE and compile the project and copy to the Community folder then the change will immediately appear in MSFS?

Your understanding is not entirely correct. Two way editing has nothing to do with building the project and placing it in the community folder. When you set a project for two way editing then you are setting it up so that ADE and the in Sim Dev Mode are sharing the xml source code. You need to have both ADE and MSFS open with the same project loaded in ADE and MSFS Dev Mode. When Dev mode is active then it shows the project in 3D. Make a change in ADE and save it. Then re-load the project in MSFS Dev Mode - changes made in ADE will appear in 3D in Dev Mode. Make a change in Dev Mode and Save it. Then re-load the project in ADE and the changes made in Dev Mode will show up in the ADE display. Note that there are some elements which may not work.

When the project is complete you can build it either in ADE or MSFS Dev Mode and the changes can be placed in the Community Folder.

OK, thanks for explaining it.
