• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS Livery Toolkit

Hi all, I've been working on a new tool to help livery artists with all the boring "back-end" work. The idea is you should be able to build out your entire livery folder and file structure for a selected base aircraft, add placeholder images ready for your own artwork, and even extract textures from the base aircraft if you don't have a paintkit, to use as the basis for your livery art.

It's still in beta, and I'd love to get some feedback from livery artists. The tool is free, it'll always be free - no strings attached, no premium tier.

You can check it out at: https://theflaknine.github.io/MSFS-Livery-Toolkit/

It's the successor to my ImageToMSFSKTX2 script, although it does a LOT more, and has a nice modern UI instead of 90s batch file chic!

I'll be completely transparent about one fact: I used Claude for the coding - that's the only way I could even begin to create an app this complex. Note that all requirements and functional design are my own work - countless man hours has gone into this, alongside the cost of my Claude Pro subscription, so please don't consider this as "AI Slop"!

If you have any testing feedback please let me know. I'm pumping out new builds pretty frequently as I deal with feedback and also work through my own backlog of issues and enhancements. So please tell me if you find bugs, confusing workflows, annoyances or have ideas for new functionality to add.

Besides Claude, I also have used Gemini and Copilot. You don't need to ascribe credit to AI... the data centers are stealing using your ideas to further their abilities. :yikes: I think your tool is a great idea.
