• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MV-22B Osprey (Release 1.0)

Can't wait for Rel 2.0! I'm the Air Combat Commander at NWAG (Northwest Air Guard). A sanctioned VATSIM VSO, and this is going to be an AWESOME aircraft to use when VATMILEX2018 starts up in a couple months.

Kalong, if you need any assistance, I'll be glad to help (P3D v4.1). I'm also working on a training guide for my VSO when it comes to VSTOL aircraft.

Thanks Dave, Very nice. I would still like to see the big yellow one. I saw that you didn't like it though. It would still be fun to see one like that. I also saw a Blackhawk fictional UK yellow rescue, but I couldn't figure out how to download. Thanks for pointing me in that direction. Nice work Dave.
Merry Christmas by the way.

DaveWG, do you think you or someone you know could make or has made a repaint for the new HV-22's the USN is using?

Hi Maryadi,
if this "save/load issue in FSX" is the only thing left holding you back from a public beta, I wouldn't worry about that.
This initialisation problem isn't a show-stopper IMO , since the remedy is very simple. A user in FSX just needs to be aware that it might happen.

If someone is curious what this is about:
During aircraft/flight load, some saved states have to be initialised, also requiring some events (FS commands) to be given.
However, the way FSX (and maybe P3D, but less apperant) startsup and initialises things is rather time-critical so it behaves differently from Pc to Pc.
Quite complex to make it 100% reliable ... I know myself, cause I'm dealing with simular problems over a decade now with many of my control gauges in other applications.

Best regards, Rob

Ok so I am looking for some guidance here.

I was hoping to create a package of a dozen or so saved flights for FSX (or maybe P3D) using this aircraft, and the AI ship package by Haze Gray Studios.

I doubt that will be able to create a saved flight where I can start on deck with rotated propellers -- I admit I haven't tried it just yet, but I was just sitting down to do that....

So I decided I would reach out here and ask, which states can I start in (reliably)? Can I start in flight? Or cold & dark?

there just a few thing being saved, if you want just propeller rotate or stop state, you can saved flight with engine state condition. when load, proprotor will read engine state, either running or stop. and make sure always saved flight when inside VC cockpit. some how, outside view doesn't trigger the gauge to active, unlike when load from VC cockpit.

Maryadi, I see, thank you. I am reviewing the manual again, it has been some time. I see that we can use full Stowed state. That will be interesting to use on deck, I think.

The manual does say not to try to save a flight in VTOL/STOL mode -- it is not supported. So it is not possible to save a state with 90 degree up props with engine running, correct?

EDIT:

Actually, I think it works fine. Will send this test flight to a few others and see if it works...

it mean, don't try to save when "fly while in VTOL". when on the ground it no problem what nacelles position.

Rip, great vid and idea of testing out your fleet, I had planned on using my trusty SH-60, but the Osprey makes more sense!

My plan was to create a dozen or so saved flights with this excellent MV-22 onboard the various amphib ships, using all those crazy-good paint jobs that Letourn made.

Figured I'd post them somewhere for folks to download, with all the credit to the team, if Maryadi will be supportive. Clearly I benefit from the free exposure to the ship package, not ashamed of that -- but more than that, I just want to do it. It does truly seem like a very fun and easy little mini project, one that is just begging to be done.
