• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

New FSX scenery design tool using Google Earth

Hi,

The subject has been discussed in depth on this forum. Read the threads, and if you use FSXKml, use the latest version (1.05) and read the documentation of the program.

The islands should be "nested" inside a hydro poly. The procedure is the same for rivers and oceans.

In the file you have uploaded you have not tagged the islands as PolygonHole. This is needed in FSXKml. Also you must draw hydropoly(s) to put the holes in. The lakes all seem to have an elevation of "0" meaning that they will show in deep holes.

The enclosed file should work, but you still need to set the altitudes of the lakes, one by one...

Tusind tak :)
Now I can see what I did wrong. Have tried to make it PolygonHole, but it didn't fix it. But now I can see my error with the "in the same KML folder".

Yes I know about the lakes. This is the next job.

Remove fence

Hi again ;)
Anyone can tell me how I can remove the fence around an airport ?
I have tried all the exclude with airport, and exclude utility without getting the fence away.

Hi,

There are some posts on excludes elsewhere on this forum.

You can use one or all of these options:

<DeleteAirport
deleteAllApproaches = "TRUE"
deleteAllApronLights= "TRUE"
deleteAllAprons= "TRUE"
deleteAllFrequencies= "TRUE"
deleteAllHelipads= "TRUE"
deleteAllRunways= "TRUE"
deleteAllStarts= "TRUE"
deleteAllTaxiways= "TRUE"
deleteAllBoundaryFences= "TRUE"
deleteAllBlastFences= "TRUE"
deleteAllJetways= "TRUE"
deleteAllControlTowers= "TRUE"

Sketchup & Gmax

Hi bpahe,
I was able to successfully import a model of the Space Needle in Seattle from sketchup in FS using Gmax. Using the trial of Sketchup Pro, you can export the object to 3DS format, then import it into Gmax, then export it to FS. But this program sounds very useful, and if you could eliminate all those steps that would be very cool.

Hey maybe you could help me or point me in the right direction. I have been able to get sketchup models into Gmax, but don't know where to go from there to get them into FSX. How did you do it? Thanks
