• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 New to Bush Trip / mission creation

I've never developed anything for any simulator, just have helped beta testing things (Maddog and Majestic Q400) as I was a pilot on both aircraft. I am wondering if it's possible to breath back to life the old adventure file of Stefan Gerlach's "LH4384"- a lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Nice that uses ATC recordings and was extremely well done back in the FS98 days. Basically what I think happened in these adventures is the aircraft would pass over a waypoint/set of coordinates, and then the appropriate ATC wav file would play. Would the bush mission creator be a good tool to attack this project?

Why don't you?
Although I personally do not like this editor. It would be much easier to do everything in the built-in editor of the simulator itself, but, firstly, I never understood how to create a project of the mission (I had to do everything by ready-made templates), and secondly, when after loading the finished project you have to constantly correct waypoints and coordinates of rectangles - it becomes annoying. I hope that in the future MSFS2024 will be more responsible for the convenience of the mission editor.

On the other hand, the FSCommander mission pack is already done at a high level, the "TopGun Maverick" add-on too - so theoretically it is possible to make others. But only whether a person who has never done such a thing will be able to repeat it...

My first step, funny enough, has been to try and get in touch with the initial author of this adventure (Steffen Gerlach). Im assuming they recorded the ATC themselves, so I’d have to get permission to use their wavs. It was 1998 when it was published, and I was 14 years old at the time- 25 years later, I’m noticing email wasn’t really that big a thing yet, and some of the flightsim “greats” from back then are either quite elderly now, or have since passed (Tom Allensworth). I’ve emailed all of the former “Adventure Design Team” and only one of the emails hasn’t bounced.
