• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 newbie doing something wrong fuel trigger?

I am redoing an airport in FS9, "KMRB" in Martinsburg WVa. to reflect what is now there. Had to remove a runway and lengthen the other and redo taxiways.
All this was done in afcad and did an exclude to remove default buildings and remove refueling location as only military aircraft are allowed on that side of the airport.
At anyrate I'm trying to add a refueling location at :
N39 23.8875
W77 59.2206

The xml I tried:

<FSData version="9.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="bglcomp.xsd" >
<SceneryObject lat="N39.238875" lon="W77.592206" alt="0" altitudeIsAgl="TRUE" pitch="0" bank="0" heading="0" imageComplexity="NORMAL" >
<BiasXYZ biasX="0" biasY="0" biasZ="0" />
<Trigger type="REFUEL_REPAIR" triggerHeight="0" >
<Fuel type="100" availability="YES" />
<Vertex biasX="-10" biasZ="-10" />
<Vertex biasX="-10" biasZ="10" />
<Vertex biasX="10" biasZ="10" />
<Vertex biasX="10" biasZ="-10" />
</Trigger>
</SceneryObject>
</FSData>

But fuel trigger does not show up after compiling and installing bgl
Could some one please point me in the right direction?

Thanks ever so much for your time,

Hi,

I read your initial post and started looking into it. I recently had problems a with a scenery file that I had downloaded, and after converting the BGL to XML I saw the references to Triggers and Vertices. The SDK offers some information but not enough for me to get the "big picture".
Could you please share the solution to your problem. Any guidance you could provide as to where to look for more information regarding Triggers, Bias, etc. would be appreciated also.

Thanks, Jim F.

Not sure exactly what I did. lol I just used a different template to plug in my cords into. haven't had time to look at them side by side to see what the differences are. There are actually two refueling stations at this airport as there is both civilian and military sides to the airport.

This one worked:

<FSData version="9.0" xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="bglcomp.xsd" >
<SceneryObject
lat="N39 23.88"
lon="W77 59.22"
alt="0"
pitch="0"
bank="0"
heading="350"
altitudeIsAgl="TRUE"
imageComplexity="SPARSE">

<Trigger type="REFUEL_REPAIR" triggerHeight="0.0">
<Fuel type="100" availability="PRIOR_REQUEST"/>
<Vertex biasX = "-10.0" biasZ="-10.0"/>
<Vertex biasX = "-10.0" biasZ="10.0"/>
<Vertex biasX = "10.0" biasZ="10.0"/>
<Vertex biasX = "10.0" biasZ="-10.0"/>
</Trigger>
</SceneryObject>

<SceneryObject
lat="N39 24.52"
lon="W77 58.80"
alt="0"
pitch="0"
bank="0"
heading="350"
altitudeIsAgl="TRUE"
imageComplexity="SPARSE">

<Trigger type="REFUEL_REPAIR" triggerHeight="0.0">
<Fuel type="100" availability="PRIOR_REQUEST"/>
<Vertex biasX = "-20.0" biasZ="-20.0"/>
<Vertex biasX = "-20.0" biasZ="20.0"/>
<Vertex biasX = "20.0" biasZ="20.0"/>
<Vertex biasX = "20.0" biasZ="-20.0"/>
</Trigger>
</SceneryObject>

</FSData>

The only things i see in the one that didnt work is the line: <BiasXYZ biasX="0" biasY="0" biasZ="0" />
The other changes made I dont think had anything to do with it not working. ie: changing image complexity, heading and availibility.
The <Vertex biasX ="XX" biasZ= XX"/>at the bottom just changes the size of the trigger 10 and 20 meters sq.

Hi,

Glad to hear you solved the problem. I've been reviewing posts and didn't realize that you were using FS9. I've been trying to learn what I can about scenery using FSX but I guess that in this situation it doesn't make much difference.
It seems likely that the reference to a "y" bias value of "0" was the problem. I hadn't come across any reference to a "y" value before; just thought it strange that "x" and "z" were chosen.
I haven't been able to find much scenery design info outside of the SDK for FSX so maybe if there isn't that much difference I'll check what's out there for FS9.
