• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

No lights visible in P3D

Hello,

I have made a BGL lib with some ligths and placed them on an airport. All I see now are the base models but no lights (not at night not at day time). I am usin AFLT 1.0.03 on P3D v2.2.

In Scenery folder 2 files have been created:
lib_AF_Lights_Bases_FSX (for P3Dv2).bgl
lib_AF_Lights_Lights.bgl

Textures have been copied correctly.

When opening the lib_AF_Lights_Bases_FSX (for P3Dv2).bgl in MCX I see the base models and the attach point.

In FSX the lights are visible but only at night and not during daytime or in foggy weather (what I would need). Another thing in FSX is that the light has a distance offset to the base model (around 50 cm).

What am I doing wrong? Is there anything else to do beside placing the model on the airport (used ADE)?

Thanks for help
Joerg

Nothing@! At this time, P3Dv2 does not support BGL_LIGHTs, which provide the illumination for AFLT. Please refer to the second paragraph in the user manual.

Re the offset in FSX, I would need to see your AFLT library folder to comment. If you want the lights to be visible in daytime, you must program pilot-controlled lighting. See pages 6-7 of the user manual.

Thanks Don,

I hoped that LM has fixed the BGL_Lights with v2.2 but...
So I need to find another solution to make Pilot controlled lights. Might be hard to find as there are so many issues with lights in P3D.
