• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

P3D v4 No more traffic like before 4.2 to 4.3 P3D4

I had made my own litte civil conversion of LSMD a former military field. Since MyTraffic does not spawn civil traffic there, I added some Businessjet flights from there and after adding the compiled traffic scenery I had always a few aircraft visible there. That was with P3D4.2.
In the meantime I upgraded to 4.3 with some problems first, sceneries not compatible maybe. Now it runs pretty stable.
Now recently I was on the Canarian Islands and missed the commuter aircraft ATR-72 from Binter Air. MyTraffic has one, but it does not show up. I have 737s and Airbusses on all lager island airports like GCLP, GCFV or GCTS from MyTraffic. So I made tree traffic files with AIFP with an old Binter schedule but no ATR-72 appeared. I used the MyTraffic ATR-72 aircraft, which is FSX format. I can spawn it with MyTraffic Interactive, so the model itself works perfectly.

I wanted to test the aircraft in LSMD, which was a former succesful project and to my surprise, I do no longer have AI traffic there.

The ADE has enough and big enough parking space on all places I wanted to have my AI aircraft. I did not find any FS9 traffic files. I switched off any boat traffic to make sure, there's nothing interfering, but to no success.

I used traffictools to check if there's a binter ATR around, but there's none

It always tries Parking 1-3, no higher. I have 36 parkings and occupied by 9 ai aircraft. So there's plenty left. They are except for one not marked for an airline. I have sizes, Gate medium and small, GA medium and small. I also tried to assing parking spots with IBB airline code no success. The parkings 1-3 are now unoccupied .

I also made a AI flight from GCFV to LSMD and back, once a day. So the aircraft, the P3D4 AI C130 should be all night in GCFV. Parking analysis says no availble parking spot on both airports.

Hope that's not too much information. I just wonder, if something has changed from 4.2 to 4.3 in respect to parking or AI treatment by the sim. I searched this forum but maybe not enough. Any help is appreciated.

AIFP's Traffic and Parking Analyser is a tool for traffic file developers to predict airport operation based on the information available to it.

I'm not sure what you see as the difficulty in this report. It is not telling you that the aircraft would not be accommodated; it is simply telling you that you need more coded (for airline) parking spots if you want the airline-coded aircraft to all park in airline-coded spots to accommodate the traffic and that, in the absence of those extra slots, the aircraft would be parked in the indicated (uncoded or otherwise-coded) spot. So, clearly, you have enough parking overall (for the traffic files analysed).

I am not aware that anything having to do with AI aircraft parking changed from 4.2 to 4.3. I'd be inclined to look to other areas, in particular scenery, aircraft and traffic file configurations.

I'm not very familiar with this parking analyse tool. Saw it the first time today. I thought it says, that my traffic was not parked. At least that was what I understood. I hoped this tool helps me with my problem.

I only suspect the update 4.3 since I had successfully created ai traffic file for P3D4.2 that doesn't work now as I have 4.3. I could go back and try with 4.2 but I rather hope, someone here could say, no, it works on both versions. So I could forget about that.

Scenery, aircraft and traffic file seem to be ok. I don't know, what I could test more.

P.S. My oldest traffic files date back to 2007, when I first used AIFP. Never had a problem like this.

If that were the case, then you wouldn't be having this difficulty. If it works in 4.3 and not in 4.3 then, almost certainly, the respective configurations of these items is different.

My bet is on a FS9-vintage traffic file lurking somewhere.

I just did a test on the other side of the worl. Made a AI traffic flight from KNQX to MPTO. Leaving in the morning in Florida, should be there before lunch, then going back at 4 to arrive back the same day. 24 hours plan 1 plane, two legs. It's not there, neither in MPTO nor in KNQX

FS9 traffic files. Since I use P3D4, I had to get rid of all FS9 aircraft and boats. It is since P3D3 that I had problems with AI due to FS9 files. Since I got them out, I didn't get them in. At least I don't expect commercial addon designers to add FS9 traffic files ot P3D4 compatible airports addons.

Not a good assumption. Traffic files generally are not designed with a particular airport or Flightsim version in mind.

Try scanning all your traffic files using the AIFP Bulk Traffic/Find FS9 traffic files.

Success!!!

After searching all drives for FS9 traffic files, after disabling all sceneries apart from the default ones, disabling all addons, I found that there was no Base Scenery in the scenery.cfg.

I think I was disabling the scenery myself to investigate something some time ago. What I don't get, I hadn't deleted the entry but just set active to false, to temporarely set it out. The whole entry in the scenery.cfg was gone. It was there before, what I could see from an older backup. Just strange.


The solution was so stupid easy. Now the traffic is running perfectly. In the foreground the Virtualcol ATR-72 (User aircraft) with two AI from MyTraffic Professional spawned from my traffic scenery. The airport GCLP for FSX (Sim-Giants) ADE has to be further reworked to make AI use the gates with the 737 and A320s. (if someone needs help how to use it on P3D4, feel free to contact me). f
