• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I hesitate to post...and probably will deserve the electronic tongue lashing I'll receive for my stupidity.

I've had FSX sp2, SDK, FSUIPC and ADE on my computer for 6 years.. That was the problem.

Built new computer (Ivy 3770 K, 8G, 120 SSD [Win7 64 and FSX] 1 tb WD black for most everything else, 660 Ti video.)

Built,started and loaded easily (gasp!)

I have slowly reinstalled most of FSX things (GEX, UTX and hundreds of my and others small airports, flight plans)

I installed the SDK off of my original FSX deluxe set to D drive (not where FSX is). I could not make the skd sp upgrades install anywhere but to default (c:\programs (x64)\Microsoft games\sdk (something like that) despite multiple attempts with my archived and new downloads of sp1a and sp2a updates..there simply is no option to direct them to install elsewhere that I can find--so I have skd original on d drive, and sp2a on ssd in the ("don't install anything there") default programs section on the ssd C drive. I tried placing the update exe in the sdk folder, on the desktop, or in my download folder before running, but never an option as to where to place the update)

I have run the skd config program as administrator.

FSUIPC works and displays in FSX. ADEx works, compiles and the work displays in FSX. Model Convertor X works, SAMM2 works, AI flight planner works... And FSX is so wonderfully better--I can fly into big airports, use weather and not watch a slide show!!!

I have below the ADE check report, my edited dll files and the "trusted" section of the fsx config files (I have read and re-read them, but probably a typo). Reinstalled FSUIPC.
I can start FSX from with the ADE checker, and I can connect ADEx to FSX and that works fine.

I guess I'm at a loss after 10 days. I actually used the Traffic Tools option alot.

The only good news is that with the SSD install, it only takes 35-40 seconds to load FSX and see that my last effort didn't fix it.

I am quite sure I have been editing the correct .dll file from the apps\ussername\roaming, etc folder.

Do you think the original skd installation on D drive with the updates installed to C: could be the problem (warnings on troubleshooting about re-installing the original after updates installed, so I've held off on that)?

I would very much appreciate any thoughts. And as I have sincerely suggested in my few earlier posts, you cannot possibly underestimate my abilities at the software end of a computer. This is really the first time I've actually "looked seriously" at a computer with Win7.

Thanks in advance. I so much appreciate the time and wisdom of those on this forum

Try to get rid of the dots here "<Path>..C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll</Path
before C:\Program files.. though people say is bad to install SDK in the default directory, at least should install in his own folder.

Thanks!!!

Bernardo, that was it!!!!

Thank you so much! You have no idea how much time I have spent (wasted???) on this. (Well, actually I bet a lot of us know how much time.....)

I must have looked at that file 100 times and I never saw those dots...

Thanks again!

Gary

You can bet, well I am the first surprised by the success, but I saw a post with similar problem and in this case were the quotation marks ¡¡, congrats and now you can worry about Gmax, airport editions, and else.
