• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Just nothing happens when i want to convert ground polygons in mcx ground polygons wizzard. After pressing convert button nothing happens. No bgl files were created in my selected directory. Is there's something I'm doing wrong?

Hi,

It sounds like something hoes wrong indeed. If you look in the event log in ModelConverterX do you see any errors there?

Hi,

When you select the file you want to process I assume the polygons show up in the preview window. After the conversion has finished successfully the preview is cleared again. Does that happen for you as well?

Yes. This happened

Hi,

That's weird.

Do you have the SCASM path set correctly in the options?

And from what format are you importing? If you import a BGL file, the result will be that it is overwritten.

I have downloaded SCASM to my ModelConverterX folder and have set that path in options. I'm importing from collada .dae file

All sounds OK. Could you maybe send me your file, so I can test if it works here?

Hi,

I just tried it with the latest release here on my PC and I get a BGL file from the ground polygon wizard with your polygons. I just used the default settings of the wizard.

It's finaly working!!! I don't know what I did, but it makes BGL file. But I have another problem: default taxiway goes over my ground polygon. It's in different folder. Airport file has lower priority and ground polygon has higher priority. I tried to switch them but still - nothing changes.

Are you sure that is a default taxiway? They should be covered. But if it is from another addon, then it could be on top. You could try to raise the layers used for your polygons.

Just tried that. This gives me the same results

I had another look at the picture. Could it be you don't have the flatten for the area? It seems the taxiway is slightly higher than the surrounding. The flatten needs to have the same elevation as your BGLComp/XML airport.

It is flattened in that image
