• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello! I have recently viewed a tutorial on putting sketchup models into fsx. I'm just not sure if I have done everything right. I have the textures and the bgl, but I can't find the library in the object placement tool.I used Model Converter X, and Library Creator XML, so what Am i doing wrong? Please Help!!!!:(

It (the library) will need to be in an active Scenery Folder.

Perhaps that is the issue?

Also, if you get into this I would seriously consider Flight1's Instant Scenery 2.

(No I have no pecuniary interest in saying this, it is just a cheap, easy to use tool)

If you mean place it in the addon scenery folder, I have already done so. I have Abacus's scenery design shortcut, but I don't really know how to use it.

If using Add on Scenery, the library will need to be inside

Addon Scenery\Scenery

Abacus's Scenery Shortcut really just parses the xml file you have created using the object placer tool, through FSX SDK's bglcomp.exe to create a bgl file.

ie .. it does very little.

Step one is to get the library to show up in Objectplacer.

Okay. So while I was reading your post, all of that made sense. And there it was. My model was the first thing that poped up in the object placement tool. I guess I wasn't looking hard enough. Thanks so much for your help, and may God bless you.:D
