• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

I am looking to build a cell or microwave tower. One that is made up of steel tubes or squares and is bigger at the base than the top. I think the easiest way to create this is to build it in vertical sections and then stack the sections on top to form one large tower but this tower will be of uniform width, ie; the base and top will be the same width. From there I would like to "pinch" or scale the top to make it smaller than the base and have everything from the top to the bottom scale appropriately. Is this possible? When I try to scale it now it scales it evenly from top to bottom so the bottom and top are always the same size.
 
Yes it's possible. As an example I created a column 3' by 3' by 12'. I then selected only the top rectangle and scaled each side to .8 of the original size. I now have a tapered column. You should be able to do something similar with your tower.

Have you tried it with something that does not have solid sides? I don't have any trouble scaling something like in your example but if the sides are not solid, more like 3 vertical posts with a top and bottom platform connecting them, then I can't get it to scale unless it scales both the top and bottom evenly.
