• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

What version of Windows? You could try running it in compatibility mode and adjusting the resolution - this has fixed the same error but in different software.

Dave Nunez last communication with me was that the software was very old and there's going to be no more versions or support for it. Shame really, but understandable, it's been over ten years LOL

yep- sad for fsds tweak. the pic however shows when I try to go to expand in the preview pane. all other panes expand just fine.

What version of Windows? I'm running Windows 10 20H2 and FSDS 3.51 and to an extent (with not being FSDSXTweak compatible) 3.5.2 work fine. No problem with expanding the preview pane.

Could be your graphics card driver. Or perhaps need to download an older version of Directx.

win 10 direct X version I think is the ticket. It is a message about direct X just worried If I do that other things might nowt work . hahaha. who knows. FSDS 3.5.1 has worked fine otherwise since it firs came out and I installed, with free upgrade from 3.0
And FSDS h as done 99% of everything I ever wanted to do... and extremely well. I went through a tutorial on Blender year ago - how to put the 'ear' on a tea cup. Woeked fine, but then I went and did it with FSDS.... Turned out faster, easier, asnd just as good looking.

yep- mine is dx 12 also. expand in preview panel only .. gets this message. had this for years. all else works. .... except Tweak... no workie.

Thats odd, FSDSXTweak works for me - I use version 2.8 I believe. Wish it worked with 3.5.2, but with 3.5.2 you have to manually edit the x file in order for Tweak to work since all the materials have been shifted about within the x file.

My upgrade long ago was called 3.5.1 not .2 Tweak is of course 2.8. Just one day long a go it started showing the window a second time ( the one which has 'builder exterior' ... the fist window that shows. - ) i.e. reappears AFTER I bujld exterior, then i have to X out of it.... DOS screen runs. I thin I am dome. Try to use the compile mdl... message results.... unusable mdl. been that way for years.

Got the same message when I re-installed Windows then FSDS.
I did get rid of it, but not 100% sure what did it.
It only happened when I selected "Expanded View" on the 3D preview screen.
It was either -
a) Try expanding the other views first
b) DirectX reinstall

Once it stops happening it doesn't come back.

I have windows 10. directX 12 all pages no problems found. FSDS 3.5.2? where do you get that?
