When I compile my modifications for an airport and save it the file is an "ad4" file not bgl. How do I save to bgl? (just a note I am not very "computer literate" so a non technical reply would be nice.) Thank you

Thank you for the reply. Now if I only knew what your talking about.Hello:
In ADE, a *.AD4 file saves all types of scenery source data / instructions for 'a project', including CVX vectors, which otherwise are lost to a BGL.
It is always a good idea to write all project data into a *.AD4, rather than attempting to write back out directly into a BGL file.
After the ADE default write into a *.AD4, file, it is best as Tom says above, to then use ADE Menu > File > Compile Airport
In ADE, it is best to not Read or Write directly from / to BGLs, or XML source files- ...if a 'current' *.AD4 exists already for a project.
There are default paths to sub-folders in the ADE folder chain that the *.AD4, XML, and BGL files are written into.
When you navigate ADE Menu > Settings > Options > {Folders} and > {Project} tabs, you can see / edit current paths.
You can also configure for a "Split Compile" when you compile the airport project, so you get separate Airport, _CVX, _PLC BGLs.
Explore your ADE sub-folder chain to see what goes where, and change it after studying where you want ADE to put your files.
There are small updates to documentation for each ADE version, but the last "full" manual was for version 1.65; RTFM !

BTW: It would be best that you use ADE version 1.79 with P3Dv4:

PS: You might get more topic focused replies if you post your inquires in this forum:
