• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 Panel Lights not placed properly

When I went out to the airport in the night to see the searchlight, I also turned on the panel lights and they are from another version of the aircraft. Are they in the model? Can I get rid of them because none of the gauges I added illuminate though their xml code says they are supposed to. Here are screen shots to compare.

Well, I got help here but not in this thread but I know it's brand new and not everybody lurks here like I do. They have lives and day jobs, LOL! Retired has some advantages after all the "honey-do's". Anyway I found a thread that said the illumination file is NOT in the panel folder but in the TEXTURE folder. So, went there and found the culprit from the old S2F panel NOT the S2G panel. I copied one of the lit gauge backgrounds and then opened up my S2G left panel bmp. Placed it in Adobe Photoshop and created layers for each gauge including the lit type on the panel lights panel. Another screen shot. I will do the copilot's side tomorrow and check why the lower left gauge is dim. I have to do a bit of real aircraft research and see if the gauges are backlit red or white like this. Don't have any more time this afternoon with church tonight.
